... but not really. So I had a dilemma. The recipe is for a daquiri but I don't drink. It's not that I am opposed to drinking or whatever, but I just don't.
I decided to make a Mango Banana Smoothie instead. Pretty much replace the liquor with yogurt. And I halved it so I could make it in my magic bullet. Because I am cheap and don't own a real food processor or blender. One of these days I will get one, I swear.
I used an orange simple syrup. I could try to claim things about subtle the subtle citrus flavor it gave it but really I used it because I have a quart of it in the fridge and need to find uses for it. And I wasn't going to make another batch of simple syrup when I have that one sitting there waiting to be used.
Anyway, my smoothie was good for breakfast. Check out other Barefoot Bloggers to get a real Daquiri.

That is an interesting twist to the recipe! A smoothie instead of a daiquiri. I will try the frozen mango next time, maybe I would enjoy it better. Apparently we don't have access to fresh sweet mangoes where we live.
I published a post about a banana mango smoothie about 1 month ago and the beveratge is so worth it!
Your smoothie looks delicious too :)
I think it would make a great smoothie as well, without the booze.
It dawned on me as I was making it that this would make a great breakfast. I will definitely do that once the tropical fruit comes into season.
I am so late on posting this one, so I am going to steal your smoothie idea! I hope you don't mind! I don't drink either and planned to just leave it out, but this is brilliant!!
I think I would have liked the smoothie version better!
I seriously think this would be good with or without the rum (though I'm inclined to add rum)...thanks for the freezing tip...I will definitley do that...IF I can get the mangoes to last that long, LOL :D
I love the idea of the orange simple syrup! I bet those flavors were terrific together.
the non daiquiri smoothie sounds like a fun breakfast
Good job - I have so fallen off the BB bandwagon! I ahve yet to find a ripe mango, in my defense...
Ooooh, I love your idea to add yogurt to the mix. I think the "daiquiri" would taste even better w/ yogurt instead of orange juice, like I used. Great job!
What a great idea for this drink. I don't drink alcohol either so I used some sparkling water (yet to be posted) to replace the liquor. I liked the idea of making it into a smoothing. I'll have to try that one.
great job adapting this recipe for your tastes Eva!!
